'Team points' are awarded according to the adequacy of the solution with the type of innovations sought by Team for the Planet. They correspond to the analysis of several factors :
Submitted for assessment : After checking that an innovation is within the scope of the 20 issues Team for the Planet targets and that it has reached a sufficient maturity, the innovation is being assessed.
Low-cost, sustainable and decentralised green Hydrogen generation
The biggest challenge faced by the industry for adopting green Hydrogen is the economics. The cost of green Hydrogen is 2-4 times more expensive compared to fossil fuels. The proposed technology will enable green Hydrogen to be produced at parity with the cost of fossil fuels, excluding carbon price.
The proposed bioelectrocatalysis technology uses the metabolism of the microbes as the prime energy source to split water into Hydrogen and Oxygen, rather than renewable electricity. The bioelectrocatalysis technology will use 90% lower electricity as compared to conventional electrolysers.
